We will also provide you with ideas for exterior materials such as such as containers and packaging, introduce possible business partners, and design a product plan in line with concepts that appeal to your target customers. Our dedicated staff will utilize their expertise to provide multifaceted yet lucid guidance on manufacturing, advice on pharmaceutical laws and regulations, and assistance with product sales.

Characteristics of our products

Sanshokaken conducts research and development with a focus on functionality and usability as is expected to be desired in future cosmetics. Seeking to increase end-user satisfaction in all aspects from ingredients to packaging, we conduct research day and night in order to create original, superior products. Products we manufacture from start to finish include skincare products, our main focus, as well as hair care products, hair growth formula, eyeliner, and certain quasi-drugs. Products manufactured on commission include soaps and makeup products.

Do you do small-lot production?

Our minimum lot size is 1,000 units (100 ml/unit). For products with high volume per container such as those for professional use, we may accept orders of less than 1,000 units.

What are ODM cosmetics?

Unlike OEM cosmetics, ODM cosmetics may be an unfamiliar phrase to some. They are both methods of producing cosmetics, but we at Sanshokaken emphasize the provision of ODM services, whereby we support our customers from the design and planning stages of the product.

Differences between OEM and ODM

Readers of this site may be wondering "what exactly do OEM and ODM mean, and what are the differences between them?" We define the two in the following, simple manner. OEM: Original Equipment Manufacturing (support after sample provision); ODM: Original Design Manufacturing (support from the planning stage before sample provision). For example, we have seen many examples of cosmetic packaging and containers, and are able to provide advice/proposals on this subject. Also, if you can designate the key ingredient in or the desired beautifying effect of your original cosmetic product, we can suggest other complementary ingredients or the ideal form for the product. Unlike in the case of OEM cosmetics development, we can cooperate to a deeper level if you request our services from the ODM cosmetics design stage. Customer request/meeting

We listen to your wishes and product vision (product characteristics, sales routes, production quantity, etc.), and propose to you a plan for a one-of-a-kind product based on our unique and distinct signature material.
Our customers are not just from the cosmetics industry; we have worked with customers in many other industries and businesses, and we also look forward to working with you.

Product development/planning and design

We create a prototype based on our specific plan.
The prototypes are offered for free. You will receive sufficient products for about a one- or two-week trial for five people, and if the results are satisfactory, we will move on to manufacturing. Prototypes can be made ready in one to two weeks for existing products, or about three weeks for new products.

Signature material evaluation

We ask you to check the usability, etc. of the prototype.
When necessary, we make adjustments and create another prototype, which we will ask you to check again for usability, etc.
We will also present to you a simplified table of ingredients and a written plan explaining the characteristics of the formula design.

Packaging material design

We can also propose to you cosmetic product containers, packaging and the design thereof.

Estimate

We will provide you with an interim estimate at the time of the prototype production.
The final estimate will be presented when the product design is finalized.

Stability test

We will pay attention to quality stability from the prototype stage, and the quality stability test will be conducted on the formula of the final prototype to provide further assurance.

Agreement

We will sign a basic business contract, various agreements, etc.

Tasks related to pharmaceutical regulations

Upon commercialization, we will conduct a quality stability test, submit regulatory applications, etc. We will be ready to manufacture the final product once we have completed all the tasks related to pharmaceutical regulations, including obtaining permission and authorization from the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare and concluding the outsourcing/service agreement.

Ingredient/material procurement

We will procure everything necessary for manufacturing, from ingredients to containers.

Manufacturing

After product development, product design, various quality tests, regulatory application, and procurement of ingredients/materials, we can now begin the manufacture of your product. This is the moment where your original, safe, high-quality, one-of-a-kind cosmetic product is born. We ensure efficient and stable supply of your product.

Quality Control

To ensure that our customers can sell their products without anxiety, we conduct stringent testing on our manufactured products so that there are no quality problems after their delivery/sale. The products are stored in our company for five years, during which quality checks are conducted.

Delivery

After the quality testing of the manufactured product is completed, the finished product will be shipped on time to the pre-designated delivery location.
